Privacy Policy
Effective October 22, 2026 · Updated October 22, 2026
1. Who we are
DockPulse is operated by DockPulse LLC, a Florida limited liability company based in Fort Walton Beach, Florida ("DockPulse," "we," "us"). This policy covers the DockPulse iPhone app, the website at dockpulse.io, and the related services (together, the "Service").
DockPulse is sold to businesses. The rental company that signs up (the "Customer") invites its owners, managers, mechanics, and crew ("Users"). The Customer decides who joins its account and what each person can do. For the records your company enters, we act on the Customer's behalf as its service provider. Questions about how your employer uses DockPulse can go to your employer or to us.
2. Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account or join with an invite code: your first and last name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider, never in plain text), your company, your role, and the permissions your company gives you. If your company invites you, we receive your name, email address, and role from your company.
Records you and your team enter. This is the core of DockPulse: boats and their details (name, type, make, the dock or yard they're assigned to, engine hours, insurance dates), issue reports, severity, status changes, comments and replies, checklist answers and notes, maintenance logs (including the name of who did the work, parts, and costs), tasks, to-do lists, and issue steps. We record which User created or completed each item and when, because showing who did what is a feature of the Service.
Photos. If you choose to attach a photo to an issue or a repair, the app uses your camera or lets you pick a photo, and uploads only the photos you select.
Device and technical information. If you allow notifications, a push notification token for your device, so we can deliver alerts to it. Like most online services, our servers also receive technical details with each request, such as IP address, device and operating system type, app version, and timestamps, which appear in short-lived server logs.
Communications. If you email us, request a demo on dockpulse.io, or ask for support, we receive what you send, such as your name, company, email, phone number, fleet size, and message.
Billing contact information. Companies are invoiced directly. We keep the billing contact and invoice history. We do not collect or store payment card or bank account numbers in the app; payments are handled through our bank's invoicing and payment tools.
What we don't collect. The app doesn't request or track your device's location, and we don't collect your contacts, your browsing history, or advertising identifiers. If you attach a photo from your library, it may include details your phone saved with it, such as when and where it was taken. The app contains no advertising or analytics tools, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
3. How we use information
- To provide the Service: show your company's fleet, issues, checklists, maintenance, and tasks to the right people, and keep a history of the work.
- To send notifications you've allowed, for example when an issue is reported, a task is assigned to you, or someone replies to a comment.
- To create and secure accounts, send invite and password-reset codes, and prevent misuse.
- To provide support, and to maintain and improve the Service, such as fixing bugs and making it faster and more reliable.
- To communicate with Customers about their account, billing, and changes to the Service.
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.
We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't use information collected for one purpose for an unrelated purpose without your consent, unless the law allows it.
4. Permissions on your phone
Camera and photos. Used only when you choose to attach a photo. You can say no and still use DockPulse; you just won't be able to add photos. You can change this anytime in your iPhone's Settings.
Notifications. Optional. DockPulse works without them, and everything still appears in the app's Inbox. You can turn notifications off in your iPhone's Settings, and choose which kinds you get in the app under More, then Notifications. We don't use notifications for advertising or marketing.
5. Who can see your information
People in your company. Information you enter is visible to other Users in your company's account according to the roles and settings your company chooses. For example, your name appears next to the issues you report and the checklist items you complete. Each company's data is kept separate from every other company's data.
Service providers. We use a small number of companies to run DockPulse. Supabase, Expo, Resend, Vercel, and Namecheap process information on our behalf to provide their services to us. Apple and Mercury handle information under their own privacy policies when they deliver the app and notifications or process payments.
- Supabase: database, user authentication, and photo storage.
- Expo: delivers app updates and relays push notifications to Apple. Expo says it does not store notification content beyond delivery.
- Apple: app distribution and push notification delivery to iPhones.
- Resend: sends account emails such as invite and password-reset codes, and delivers demo requests from our website to us.
- Vercel: hosts dockpulse.io and its demo request form.
- Namecheap: our domain and business email.
- Mercury: our business banking provider, for invoicing and receiving payments from Customers.
We choose providers that commit to protecting data, and we only share what each one needs. Any third party we share user data with must provide the same or equal protection of that data as described in this policy.
Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we believe in good faith it's necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of DockPulse, our Users, or others.
Business transfers. If DockPulse is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that deal. This policy will continue to apply to it, and we'll notify Customers before their information becomes subject to a different policy.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
Artificial intelligence. The app does not send your information to third-party AI services, and we don't use your company's data to train AI models. If we add AI features in the future, we'll update this policy first and ask for permission before any of your information is shared with an AI provider.
6. How long we keep information
- While your company uses DockPulse, we keep its account and records so the history stays complete.
- For 30 days after a Customer's subscription ends, we keep its data so the Customer can request an export, then we delete it from the live Service. Backup copies are overwritten on their regular cycle, which takes up to 30 more days.
- When you delete your own account, see section 7.
- Server logs are kept for a short period, generally a few days to a few weeks, for security and troubleshooting.
- Emails and demo requests are kept as ordinary business correspondence, and you can ask us to delete them.
- Invoices and billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting laws require.
7. Deleting your account
You can delete your DockPulse account at any time by emailing will@dockpulse.io from the address on your account. We'll finish within 30 days, usually within a day, and confirm when it's done. You'll also be able to delete your account directly from your account settings in the app, where it takes effect immediately and the app confirms it.
What we delete: your login, your profile (name, email address, role, and permissions), your settings and notifications, and your device's notification token.
What stays with your company: issues, checklists, photos, comments, and repair logs you added are part of your company's boat maintenance and safety history. They stay with your company, showing "Former team member" instead of your name. Names typed into the text of a record, such as a repair's "performed by" field or a comment, may not all be caught; ask your company or us and we'll edit them.
Backup copies are overwritten within about 30 days. We keep anything else only if the law or a legal claim requires it.
If you're the only owner of a company account, we'll ask you either to hand ownership to someone else on your team or to close the company account. Closing it ends the subscription at the end of the paid month and deletes the company's data as described in section 6.
Deleting your own account doesn't cancel your company's subscription. Billing is between your company and DockPulse, and the company's owner can cancel by contacting us.
8. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your personal information, correct it, or delete it, and you can withdraw permission for camera, photos, or notifications at any time in your iPhone's Settings. Email will@dockpulse.io and we'll respond within 30 days. To protect your account, we may ask you to confirm the request from the email address on your account.
Because DockPulse works on behalf of the companies that use it, we may involve your employer when a request concerns your company's records, but we'll always help you delete your own account.
Depending on where you live, privacy laws (such as California's) may give you additional rights. We honor the requests above for everyone, and we will not treat you differently for making one.
9. Security
Information is encrypted in transit and stored with providers that encrypt it at rest. Database access rules limit each company's records to its own Users, so one company can't see another's. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes. Access to production systems is limited to DockPulse personnel who need it to run and support the Service. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you and the affected Customer as required by law.
10. Where information is stored
DockPulse is run from the United States, and information is stored and processed in the United States. If you use DockPulse from elsewhere, you understand that your information will be handled under U.S. law.
11. Children
DockPulse is a workplace tool and is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it. Customers are responsible for making sure the people they invite are old enough to work for them under applicable law.
12. Our website
dockpulse.io does not use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers, and it doesn't load fonts or scripts from other companies. If you submit the demo request form, we receive what you enter by email and use it only to contact you about DockPulse. Our hosting provider keeps basic server logs, such as IP address and request time, for security and reliability.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date above. If the change is significant, we'll notify Customers by email or in the app before it takes effect.
